T&A means Tax and Accounting.

The minimum time in a role is nine months. Before moving to the next level, a person does the next level's work for one quarter, and that quarter covers a busy season.

If a more senior title is requested, what that title requires has to be provided 48 hours before the next scheduled interview to be included in the interview process.

What each column means

In alphabetical order.

Bkkping & Tax Prep. Preparing a tax return or a client's monthly or annual bookkeeping.
Bkkping & Tax Review. Reviewing a tax return or a monthly or annual bookkeeping somebody else prepared.
Bkkping Clean Up. Fixing a client's books where the numbers do not match reality.
Career Rec. Giving another person a recommendation on their next career step.
Complex Bkkping Review. Reviewing a complex bookkeeping somebody else prepared, or one where the mistakes the preparer made make it complex.
Complex Tax Review. Reviewing a complex tax return somebody else prepared, or one where the mistakes the junior made make it complex.
Complex Tax Strategy. Planning how a client with a complex tax situation reduces what they owe in tax, before the return is prepared.
Individual Contributor Track. The title for this level on the track that does not manage people.
People Mgmt. Approving a person's time off, giving their feedback, and being held accountable for their work.
People Mngt Track. The title for this level on the track that manages people.
Profit. Owning whether a practice area or client base stays profitable.
Sales. Having the job requirement to bring in new paid work from a client, directly or by supporting someone who does.
Self Mngt. Managing your own time, your own work, and your own deadlines.
SOP Compliance & Creation. SOP means Standard Operating Procedure. Following the firm's written step-by-step processes, and writing new ones for work that does not have one yet.
Spvsing Work. Reviewing the work other people do, without managing them as people.
Tax & Accounting Strategy. Planning how a client's tax and accounting work fit together.
Verbal Client Comms. Talking to the client directly, by phone or video call.
Written Client Comms. Writing to the client directly, by email.

We do not hire for tax only. A person who has only done tax work does not have what our business taxes need.
