Our interview process for MyCPE One

Last updated 30 September 2026.

This description is for candidates from MyCPE One only, and for MyCPE One itself.

  1. MyCPE One clarifies what a person can do at each level of experience, who it has on the bench who could start as soon as 5 October 2026, and whether anyone is available to help before the 14 October 2026 deadline if the bench is empty.
  2. SMB Numbers sends MyCPE One the job description for every role it is interested in.
  3. MyCPE One searches for the most senior role first.
    1. If nobody is available for the most senior role, MyCPE One moves to the next most senior role.
    2. The most senior role is the Tax and Accounting Reviewer for MyCPE One. On 30 September 2026, MyCPE One said nobody is available for it before 14 October 2026.
    3. The second most senior role is 5+ Years.
    4. The third most senior role is 3 to 5 Years.
  4. MyCPE One sends resumes for every candidate available at that role.
  5. MyCPE One sends a short video introduction from each candidate SMB Numbers is considering, answering these same two questions every time.
    1. What do you do when you get a task/project you do not understand?
    2. From a logistics standpoint, when is the earliest that you could start full time if you were to be accepted?
  6. SMB Numbers says which candidates it wants to interview.
  7. SMB Numbers lets MyCPE One know which candidates passed the first step of the interview.
  8. The candidates who passed that first step continue to the live part of the interview.
  9. SMB Numbers lets MyCPE One know who passed, so a candidate can be selected quickly.
  10. If nobody passes at that role, steps 3 through 9 repeat for the next most junior role.
